The area of Vrads has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Today, it is a small village with about fifty houses set around the whitewashed church from the thirteenth century.
The church is a Romanesque/Norman style granite church from the thirteenth century including a baptismal font worth seeing.

Vrads was a junction at the ancient military road "Hærvejen" that follows the watershed of Jutland. There are signs of our ancestors at numerous places in this area.

Vrads Sande is an area of outstanding natural beauty - characterised by heaths (much of the area is subject to protection orders) and with a number of pleasant nature trails offering a unique experience in a rough nature with a rich variety of bird life.
